Okay, this might get a little long winded *sorry anon* as I have an obsession over anything involving hair, especially Genevieve’s. Here goes:) - 

Depending on which pictures you’re taking reference from, this answer might change, but essentially, yep, Gen has layers. She has thick hair and a lot of it, so layers are pretty much a must. As for short or long layers, hers have always been long, she’s never had layers much above her chin. Too shorter layers tends to make thick hair look even thicker because there’s not enough weight to hang it down and it often ends up looking like you have really…wide hair, if that makes sense. I speak from years of experience in this area! 

Most recently she has quite long layers and grown out sidebangs-

The best advice I can give if you want hair like Gen’s, is to go to your stylist with pictures. It’s what everyone says, I know, but from personal experience, its just the best thing you can possibly do when you have an exact haircut in mind. There’s no confusion as to what exactly qualifies as long layers or short layers that way, and your hair will thank you when you walk out of the salon supremely happy with your Gen-esc hairdo! :D
